The roofing company does not do Home Shows anymore. We used to back in the 90's, but we've simply found them to be more of an expense then anything else. They are something of business marketing, but fail for us because we are more of a commercial grade company.
Most apartment, and building owners that we've talked too don't go to home shows, and if they ever have, they've told us that its simply for domesticated residential things, such as; Checking out new kitchen cabinets, Counter-tops, and anything new and exciting surrounding residential remodeling and decor. We've taken their statements and have again decided to venture out of these shows.
Also the shows usually cost $1500 to as much as $3000 for the weekend. We have to have a salesperson available for the full open days of the exhibit so they can answer questions, and get their brains picked. Our contractors are not sales-people; They're commercial grade roofing contractors. They wouldn't appreciate it if we sent them down to a home show where all they did was talk about laminated shingles, and to advise whether a home owner should get a metal roof or what's the advantages of an aluminum shingle roof over other types?
